Benton Academy

Making The Potential Reality

Headmaster's Corner--April 2, 2020

  • BA Family,

I want to give you all some information concerning our situation here at Benton Academy. This is certainly not what we expected when we dismissed for spring break a while back. We are all working extremely hard to give our students the lessons they need to finish this school year and to move on to the next grade. We also are trying hard to give our seniors what they need for their future and to conclude their time here in a way that will honor them for their hard work.

We will not have school next week, April 6-10. We will begin to have drop off/pick up of lessons next Saturday, April 11th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. We are hoping this will be more convenient for you. We are going to continue to work on a week by week basis, but it is doubtful we return to our normal routine until after April 30th. It is our hope that we will be able to return then in order to finish this school year in the classrooms where we belong. We have several programs and graduations we would like to have at their scheduled times. This much is clear: the safety of our students and staff and their families is our number one priority right now.

As you are reading this, the governor of our state has issued a “shelter in place” order for all of us. We can still open weekly to return and pick up our assignments, but we will make some adjustments to this procedure to further protect all of us. Please stay aware of all announcements coming from us concerning our distance learning methods.

This crisis we are experiencing is a fluid situation that is changing on a daily basis. Please pray for our school, our community, our state, and our country. Please show patience as we all are in this together and the BA family will get through this. Thank you and God bless!
